KYRIA SABIN
Recognized as a Master Pilates Teacher and Fletcher Pilates® Disseminator, Kyria Sabin founded Body Works Pilates in Tucson, Arizona in 1993. She is also founder and Director of Fletcher Pilates®, International. A graduate of Duke University, a PMA Certified Pilates Teacher and a Licensed Massage Therapist, Kyria developed the Pilates Program at the University of Arizona School of Dance where she serves as adjunct faculty. She is an international presenter and has served on the boards for Pilates Method Alliance, the University of Arizona Dance Advisory Board and the Foundation for Expanding Horizons.

EMILY ACRE
Born and raised in Colorado, Emily moved to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona with a four-year dance scholarship. While in her freshman year, she was introduced to Fletcher Pilates® by studio owner Kyria Sabin and continued her study of this work for the following three years. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Emily moved to New York City to dance professionally. She has since returned to Tucson and is a qualified Fletcher Pilates® teacher.
STUDIO FACULTY
DEBORAH MENDOZA
Program of Study Faculty Deborah's strong dance and movement background includes a Bachelor of Arts in dance from Santa Clara University and continuing dance studies in New York. Upon her return to Tucson, Deborah began intensive training in the methods of Joseph Pilates and Ron Fletcher through her association with Body Works Pilates. Since 1996, Deborah has been teaching at Body Works Pilates. She continues to study with Ron Fletcher and has also received training from Michele Larsson and the Pilates Center in Boulder. She helped design the Body Works Pilates Teacher Training Program and currently holds a Qualified Teacher Certificate from Ron Fletcher and serves as lead Tucson Fletcher Pilates® Faculty.
BECKY BELANGER
Program of Study Faculty Rebekah Belanger discovered her love of Fletcher Pilates while completing her Master’s of Fine Arts in Dance at the University of Arizona. She earned her undergraduate degree from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, and also holds a Professional Dance Diploma from the Laban Centre in London, England. Rebekah has danced professionally nationally and internationally, including London, England, Philadelphia, PA, and Phoenix, AZ. She completed the Ron Fetcher Program of Study in 2008 and is proud to be teaching at Body Works Pilates.
MARTHA RAMIREZ
Program of Study Faculty As a native of Mesa, Arizona Martha moved to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona in 2000. During her studies at the UofA Martha was introduced to the Fletcher Work. In 2003, Martha received her Level I certification through The Ron Fletcher Program of Study and started working at Body Works shortly thereafter. In May 2004 Martha received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Upon completion of her degree Martha focused her attention on Pilates and received her Level II certification in 2005. She serves as Fletcher Pilates® Faculty.

THOMAS BEALL
Thomas Beall is a 500 hr Certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher who lives and teaches in Tucson, Arizona. He began practicing yoga in the early 1970's and has continued his personal exploration over four decades. Tom is a lifelong practitioner of yoga of all varieties including the study of Kundalini, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kripalu, Anusara, Bikram and other approaches. Currently he teaches classes at Providence, the Tucson Racquet and Fitness Club, Yoga Flow, Body Works Pilates, U of A Fitness Center, and Pima College. Tom is known for giving clear and precise instruction and inspiring students to excell in their practice. He has three audio CD's of yoga instruction available for sale, 'Gentle', 'Moderate' and 'Vigorous Kripalu Yoga'. With Sally Weber he has developed a partner yoga program for couples.
MARK BENAVIDEZ
Mark completed his teacher training at Windfire Yoga on the island of Ibiza in 2001. He is one of the very few Americans qualified to teach the Dynamic Yoga method of Hatha Yoga. His intentions are to reveal the simplicity of Hatha Yoga and to empower his students to develop their own Yoga practice. Mark completed the Fletcher Pilates® Comprehensive Program in 2008 and is a Qualified Fletcher Pilates® Teacher.
SUSAN BOVRE
After completing her Masters Degree in modern dance, Susan moved to Tucson and shifted her focus to motivating adults to participate in exercise programs. She became interested in balance training during her gerontology studies at the UA and has been teaching balance classes for over 10 years. Recently completing certification to teach FALLPROOF!, Susan is offering Balance Basics at Body Works Pilates.
NAOMI GLAZER
Naomi was first introduced to Fletcher Pilates® in 2001. After years of tennis, aerobics, weight training and synchronized swimming she dedicated herself exclusively to Pilates by entering The Ron Fletcher Program of Study® as a Level I student in 2004, and has since graduated as a Qualified Fletcher Pilates® Teacher. Naomi is also a certified Yamuna Body Rolling (YBR) Teacher.
VERONICA LAVERY
Veronica has been working for Fletcher Pilates® and Body Works Pilates since 2005. In August 2010, she completed the Ron Fletcher Program of Study and is a qualified Fletcher Pilates® teacher.
SHANNON MANUEL
Shannon graduated from California Polytechnic State University with a BA in Liberal Studies and was a middle school teacher. During this time she was a race walker and highly active. She moved to Tucson in 2004 and began her training in the Fletcher lineage. Her passion for movement and teaching was the catalyst in her discussion to enter the teacher training program. She is a Qualified Fletcher Pilates® Teacher.
MARY ANN SANTANDER
Mary Ann has over 22 years of experience in the fitness industry. Her "On the Ball" class at Body Works requires mind-body concentration and enhances flexibility, balance, and core strength. This fun class leaves you feeling strong, stretched, and challenged to "the core!".
AMANDA UDVARE
With a degree in Nutrition and a love of athletics, Amanda knew she wanted a career in health and wellness. While attending The University of Arizona, she was introduced to Body Works Pilates and Fletcher Pilates® and was quickly intrigued. Amanda has worked as the Studio Assistant Manager from 2006 to 2008. Since graduating from the Fletcher Program of Study in 2008, she has joined the Body Works Pilates teaching staff.
KELLI WORKMAN
Teaching has always been one of Kelli's strongest loves. It only made sense after discovering the Fletcher work in 2001 she would move on to teach it. Kelli received her Level 1 certificate in 2005 and is currently completing the Level 2 work. Pilates not only has enriched her life but has expanded her understanding of movement as a professional singer, dancer and choreographer. Kelli feels very blessed to be a part of the staff at Body Works Pilates.
YARROW KING
Yarrow King has studied, taught and performed West African, Brazilian, Caribbean, Contemporary and Fusion dance with local and regional ensembles for over 15 years. She choreographs performance pieces combining traditional and contemporary forms of dance and is the primary dance instructor and the Dance Director for Batucaxé Afro-Brazilian Drum and Dance School and Performance Ensemble. She has studied extensively with Rosangela Silvestre, world renowned dancer and choreographer. Yarrow's teaching style welcomes students into an experience of fun, safety, and creativity,encouraging participants to explore their own self-expression and emotional, mental and physical well-being.
MASSAGE & SHIATSU THERAPISTS
DIANE DEDEK, LMT
Diane received her training at the Desert Institute of the Healing Arts. Diane is committed to helping people prevent injury, enhance recovery, and maintain optimal health through the application of therapeutic massage. An accomplished triathlete and long distance ocean swimmer, Diane has first-hand experience of the beneficial aspects of massage for athletes.
ANNA FRANKLIN, Reflexologist
Anna Franklin, a certified reflexologist, is native of Reykjavik, Iceland. Anna Studied reflexology with Deborah Ardell Hill and was certified in 1999. Anna received her Shiatsu certification in 2000 from the Providence Institute in Tucson. She is also trained in the little-known art of Backwalking, a deep-muscle massage favored by athletes.
JON LEHMAN, LMT, Certified Shiatsu Practitioner
Jon is a native Tucsonan and received his BS in Education (Elem. Ed.) from Northern Arizona University in 2000. He was trained at the Desert Institute of the Healing Arts in Swedish, Sports, Deep Tissue, Hot/cold stones and Masunaga’s 5 Element Zen Shiatsu and received his certification with1,000+ Hours in Massage and Shiatsu. Jon specializes in pain and injury management. His treatments are an energetic combination of movement, stretching and vibration designed to relieve pain and facilitate the body’s natural healing processes.
MELODEE STUMPF, LMT
Melodee a 1985 graduate, attended Milwaukee Wisconsin's first accredited school of massage therapy. An experienced and accomplished practitioner of diverse modalities including craniosacral therapy and hypnotherapy, she specializes in therapeutic swedish massage to promote relaxation, nurture wellbeing and support healing and transformation. Melodee's expertise with various techniques from styles of deep-tissue, prenatal, polarity and hot stone massage allow her to offer each client-centered session a signature experience that honors individual needs and preference. She is passionate about her work and dedicated to service that relaxes the mind, restores the body and renews the spirit. Melodee is also a creative movement and expressive dance facilitator and an active professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association.
